CUSTOM BIKE FITTING
Making sure your "bike fits" is the single most important aspect of purchasing a new bike. You can buy the best bike in the world, but if does not fit properly it will be uncomfortable and may possibly cause you injury.
All of our bike fits are by appointment and can be done before purchase (on our BioRacer sizing rig) or on a new or existing bike.
It is possible to buy, or ride, a bike that's the perfect size for you, but if it doesn't have the perfect handlebar, stem, cranks, pedals or seat set up it will be uncomfortable.
There is a big difference between being “sized” for a bike and being “fit” for a bike.
Every cyclist has unique biomechanics, so there are no generalizations that apply when truly fitting a rider to a bike. When you buy a bike and your position is not optimized, it will cause you to underperform. A proper bike fit will not only provide you with the most economic means of expending energy, but will also prevent pain that is common in the knee, hip, and lower back, particularly with riders who are trying to adapt their bodies to the bike they have purchased. We would rather adapt the bike to the body you already have.
Profeet doesn’t sell bikes, we just make sure that they fit properly.
OUR BIKE FITTING SERVICE
Bike Fittings are by appointment only.
1. A full bike fit lasts two hours and normally costs £200. This is for an existing bike – commuter, road, TT or mountain.
We can fit two bikes to a rider (e.g. road & TT) in 3 hours. This normally costs £300.
2. We would probably recommend custom insoles for most riders – in our experience they generally need this, as their foot position and leg alignment are usually wrong.
The analysis for this is included in the bike fitting, but the insoles cost an additional £109.95 and are fully custom made and fitted to the customer’s shoes while-you-wait.
3. A bike sizing, before buying a bike, takes up to 2 hours and is the same cost as a full appointment, the customer receives a full bike geometry report which can be used to set up the bike after purchase. Or we offer a free checkup.
