| Dear all at Profeet, I wanted to write to thank all of you for your support. Our team all recently completed the Marathon des Sables and we are very grateful for your help. I am sorry not to come in and thank you in person. Unfortunately on the penultimate day of the marathon I stepped awkwardly on a rock and broke my foot. I managed to finish the race but slipped out of the top 100 [ finished 104th, the 9th Brit home]. Getting round London on crutches is proving more difficult than finishing the desert marathon! read more |

| Buster Martin, dropped into Profeet to get some expert advice |
| ‘Buster’ 101 visit’s Profeet. Buster Martin, allegedly 101 years of age, dropped into Profeet several weeks ago to get some expert advice about his footwear. Buster was in training for this years Flora London marathon held on April 13th and was running to raise funds for The Rhys Daniels Trust. Simon Bright, Profeet Foot Technician comments: “We put Buster through some gait analysis on the treadmill, which he handled very well, and then kitted him out with a new pair of running shoes. These were a different brand to the ones he had been training in and provided a little more padding and extra support for his feet. As people get older you can lose some of the additional tissue around the bones, especially the feet, so Buster found the new shoes more comfortable and this should reduce the risk of any injuries. Buster ran the Flora London Marathon to raise funds for The Rhys Daniels Trust which provides 'Home from Home' accommodation, in support of major children's hospitals across the UK as a perfect environment for children and their families at such a stressful time. Buster Martin said: “Throughout my life I have set myself targets and I usually achieve them. Running this marathon is no different. If you put your mind to something there is nothing you cannot achieve. It also helped I am doing it for charity, which is spurring me on.” Charlie Mullins, Managing Director of Pimlico Plumbers, said “Buster is a special guy and an inspiration to anyone everyone. His sheer determination to achieve is really admirable. Although it is wonderful to see him training on the streets of South London the sight of him completing this event will be simply amazing." Profeet is spreading the word in this month's Running Fitness Magazine about our new, Free, 'walk-in' foot and footwear analysis service for customers and all because we believe people should be able to smile when they go for a run. Following are a few words taken from the article:
