Paul Sackey England Rugby
Paul Sackey first toured with the senior England squad in 2001, scoring two tries in the 82-21 victory over United States A. He represented England U21s and Sevens and made his England A debut against Ireland at Northampton in 2002. He scored a try against the same opponents when England lost at Gloucester in March 2006 and was selected for a third consecutive Barclays Churchill Cup that same year but had to withdraw with a toe injury. The following year he was part of the England Saxons team that defeated New Zealand Maori to win the 2007 Barclays Churchill Cup final.
Joint third top try scorer in the Guinness Premiership in 2006-7, he has clocked up 57 tries in 146 league appearances for Bedford, London Irish and London Wasps since 1999. With 57, he is one of only five players to score 50-plus Premiership tries. Paul played a starring role in Englands 2007 World Cup campaign, he was there top try scorer and most conssitent performer. |
